One of the many challenges we face day to day in our lives is finding that balance and food is one of those important factors. Meghan’s advice will be tailored to you. She doesn’t believe in diets, but more making sustainable adjustments to help you find a balance in your everyday life, including trying to keep your favorite foods in the mix! Meghan will look at every aspect in your life that could be contributing to your overall health, in a more holistic approach. She will provide you with one to one sessions, the most up to date nutrition information and education, will help coach you with follow up sessions and will help you tackle any challenges that you face along the way.
Meghan developed a number of chronic conditions early on in life, starting as early as she was a toddler. From conditions such as eczema, plantar warts, chronic constipation, depression, hypothyroidism, certain autoimmune diseases, cancer, GERD, IBS, Celiac Disease and chronic migraine; she can empathize with most people about the difficulties in managing chronic illness and still working at maintaining good health. In her spare time, Meghan loves to be active whether it’s playing sports or completing half marathons, hiking or skiing. She believes that physical activity of any kind is an important key in health and will help you find the activity that you will enjoy doing. Meghan also enjoys a daily practice of meditation and mindfulness; to which she feels has helped her manage her health conditions as well as stress levels. She also loves to cook and especially eating food!
She has completed her BASc Dietetics and Human Nutrition at McGill University in 2006. She is a member of the College of Dietitians of Alberta as well as a member of Dietitians of Canada and the Canadian Diabetes Association. She is a Certified Diabetes Educator, who can help you manage your diabetes. As well as a certified Craving ChangeTM expert, who specializes in developing strategies to help with problematic eating and emotional eating. She is fully bilingual and has worked in different settings which have given her experience treating people of all ages with different conditions. However, she focuses on helping people with chronic conditions and anyone who wishes to achieve a healthy life balance.
