Does it ever happen to you where it’s the weekend and you wake up later than you would normally on a weekday, so you have a late breakfast but end up skipping lunch? And by the time supper comes around you are so hungry that you might end up over-eating?
Well I’ve got a solution for you!
...
It’s as easy as having something to eat in the afternoon. But what? Why not try a small snack plate! As you can see from my picture above, I make sure to include some veg (for fibre to fill me up) and some protein as well as fat (to help with satiety). It doesn’t have to be a big meal for it be considered a lunch, as long as you have a variety of foods including these nutrients, it will help you stay satisfied for longer and less likely to overeat at supper ;)
Other quick mini lunch ideas could also be a cup of vegetable soup with ½ sandwich or paired with some cheese and crackers. The Greek yogurt, fruit with PB I mentioned in a previous post or even a homemade mixed fruit salad with some cottage cheese! Yum :)
