![]() This time of year is so great for everything fresh, including herbs! Who here uses fresh herbs? I know I do ;) You actually don’t have to use as much as you would think to get their wonderful flavours, unlike the dried herbs. But one comment I hear often is, I just end up throwing away the bunch because they either forget they have it or don’t take care of them properly. Here are some quick tips on how to preserve your fresh herbs: - If you plan on using them quickly, cut the ends and place in a tall glass or container with water and leave on the counter/fridge. Can be left for about a week. - Freezing! Chop the fresh herbs and place in ice cube tray topped with either broth or water and freeze. Or you can mix the chopped herbs with some oil and then freeze in the trays too. They can last up to 3 months in the freezer with this method. - Making your own dried herbs by oven drying them or even air drying them. They can last in an air-tight container for about 1 year. What are your favourite ways to use fresh herbs?
